The conspiracy

Year: 2025

While reading Papyrus: The Invention of Books in the Ancient World by Irene Vallejo, I paused to marvel at the fascinating connection between words and stones, between human thought and the architecture that shelters it. Greece with its philosophers, Rome with its engineers, a touch of Egypt… but above all, I was inspired by the mystery of the Palace of Knossos in Crete, with its labyrinths rich in meaning.

What stories were woven between its columns? In my imagination, the usual fantasy: a secret society sneaking in to rescue the oracle from its stony depths. Just musings, really.
